Ballerina

Annie's ballet recital was last weekend. She was so excited for it. They each got to do their own brief solo move onstage, and she's been practicing a variety of them in anticipation. Most of the moves she considered looked rather similar to a downward dog, but luckily she picked a nice, arms outstretched pose for the big night!

Turns out it was too sunny for photos before we left.

Charlotte (who is in the class ahead) Annie, Avery, Annie and Jack.

Avery, Annie, Emma and Ashtyn
(And if you think that is confusing, Addison, Anna, Aly and Elly are in the class, too. Only two girls - Sawyer and Dorothy--didn't have an A or E name!)

Annie, Ashtyn, Elly, Charlotte and Sawyer striking their poses.
Or, in Annie's case, doing a mean impression of Mary Katherine Gallagher.

I wish we had a better camera. This picture is so cute, but the quality is awful. That's Annie in the middle.

Aly and Annie.

Of course, here's Kate looking shifty-eyed again.
Kate was devastated that she couldn't do the recital. Over the past few months, she has sort of just joined the class. She's too young and we didn't pay for her, but Miss Rhonda graciously let her participate because Kate was obviously dying to join. She did great as part of the class, but alas, was excluded from the recital. She sobbed the day they handed out the costumes and then again before we left to go to the recital. Matt had to buy her a dozen pink roses (he went to get Annie flowers for after the show) just to shut her up. Next year will be her year!

Our little ballerina. She did a great job and had so much fun during the show. This was her move when it was her turn for a brief solo. How cute is that? :)
