Annie is seven years old. SEVEN.
To celebrate being seven, we went to see the University of Michigan's gymnastics team. Then, we had pizza and opened presents and it was pretty much an awesome birthday.
Annie invited her friend Kyleigh.
And her friend Morgan.
And her weird little sister lurked in the background.
And they requested photos with the gifts.
She's seven!
Annie is an awesome seven-year-old. She's protective of Evie and inclusive with Kate. She loves to be in charge as much as ever. While her sisters do ballet, she organizes games with the other waiting siblings in the gym. Last lesson, one family's nanny and I were laughing so hard because she was telling everyone what to do. When she went to the bathroom, the kids sat on the floor waiting for her. We asked what they were doing and they said they were waiting to get their game assignments. It's borderline bossy, but she seems to make it work!
She's doing great in school and reading like crazy. Since the beginning of the school year, a few people around her school have stopped me to say with a nice girl she is and what a good student she is. She HATES to be in trouble. She hates to even think she might get into trouble. She is kind and thoughtful and super friendly.
She's playing basketball right now. She does pretty well, but she's having trouble learning to see both her man and the ball. She said, "I'm not Perry the Platypus! I don't have eyes on the SIDES of my head!" We're still holding out hope for her yet.
Annie loves to read Magic Treehouse books, watch My Little Ponies and DC Cupcakes, and do any kind of art. Her drawing is already way more advanced than mine. (Which is admittedly not saying much). She still loves her Kitty and her lovey. She loves to sing and be silly. She is getting a little sassy these days, but we love her anyway. She's our favorite 7-year-old.
Happy Birthday Annie! We love you so much!
