I left my camera in Cleveland so I'm blogging from the iPad, purely with phone and iPad photos.
In March, Matt went to Ethiopia for two weeks. He's really interested in international medical trips, and he went with his boss to try to foster a relationship in Addis Ababa. They are hoping to set something up where residents can go to Ethiopia on a regular basis. The Americans can get a lot of different surgeries in, while bringing some technology and helping Ethiopians improve their resident training program, which currently involves mostly years of observation. I think that's the general idea.
Matt had an awesome experience. He did a lot of surgery, experienced Ethiopia and definitely wants to go back at some point.
Matt, Evie and a portion of the hospital donated supplies the night before he left.
This is the Sheraton, where he stayed the first few days while his boss was there. His second hotel was not quite as nice! But I can't find the photo.
The next few are at St. Paul, the hospital they visited. The pictures are an OR, a patient room and a pharmacy. A little different over there!
