Annie's last day of school was super fun. I thought she might be sad to be leaving her class and her teacher, Ms. Cook. When I asked, however, if she was said, she said that no, she wasn't sad because Ms. Cook was still at Bates and so were the kids and she would see them again. She thought I was nuts for asking.
It's so crazy that we now officially have a first grader! Annie had a great year, though. She learned to read, she made a lot of new friends, and she said her favorite subject is math. Her report card was great, and Ms. Cook wrote that Annie tries her best every day and is always kind to others. We ran into the mom of a classmate the other day, and she was so nice about Annie. She complimented how inclusive she is of all the students at school and said she radiates positivity. I'm not trying to brag (I mean, I guess a little), I just want Annie to know that we agree, and we are so proud of her. What more could you ask for your kid?! Just be nice and happy and do your best :)
The last day of school was kind of chilly, and she insisted on wearing this jean skirt that was a full size too small.
She also requested this photo because "that's what we did on the first day of school."
We went to the park with a bunch of friends after. This is Annie, Sam, Steve and Jillian.
Drew being adorable.
Evie being adorable.
Evie and Charlotte managed to have quite an afternoon for themselves. It pays to be the little sisters at a park date with lots of older kids. They were swinging and sneaking treats all day.
Popsicles.
Big girls playing games.
And the girlies getting some cupcakes.
When it was time to leave, all the kids were hiding in this giant bush and yelling for more play time. It was really funny.
Some of the group just before we left. Some of our buddies have moved since then, which is an occupational hazard around here. It's such a bummer.
