While the girls stayed in Florida, I flew out to meet Matt in Las Vegas. He had his last interview and then flew out there for a conference. So, it was a great end of the exhausting interview slog of 2014 for us. It was nice to see his face again!
Oh, and not that this is news to anyone really, but he matched in Michigan so we'll be staying right here. We are really excited and now that much closer to being done!
We decided while we were there that Vegas is not really our thing right now. The one main thing I really wanted to do was go out and see Red Rock Canyon. Luckily for us, my brother's good friend (and ours), Reid, lives out there and is exponentially more prepared for a trip out there than me and Matt. He hooked us up with all the necessary equipment (meaning coats and beer and a guidebook) and sent us on our way. We had really windy and fairly cool weather for Vegas, but it was still worth the trip. It was gorgeous.
Matt and I don't usually figure too prominently on this blog, but I thought I'd include these pictures for the girls to see someday. Even now, I love to see photos of my parents from back when. They are nothing if not hilarious :)
It was insanely windy.
Insane. This was just a quick spot to take in the scenery.
If anyone is unclear on the difference between boys and girls, or at least between me and Matt, here it is. There were lovely looking trails that would all around that I wanted to follow at a leisurely pace.
There was also this, which Matt wanted to climb.
Guess who won?
Sadly, our camera died so we could not preserve any more adventures. I'd love go back out there!
