Crazy Kate

I have a stock tip for all my blog readers for this year. One Step Ahead. They don't even know it yet, but they are about to hit it big, and they have Matt's paycheck (and his one-year-old) to thank for it. The baby/child gear company will be the beneficiary of a large order of baby-proofing items to be delivered to our house. All because of Kate. The child is nuts. She is into everything. Things Annie never even noticed or cared about, Kate is all over. We've already had to cover the front of the tv with a special cover (OSA again) and lock the stove shut (and again). Now, she's moved onto the knobs for the stove and trying to find a way to get into the childproofed cupboards, among other fun feats.
Her other big love is climbing. Climbing anything she can (and that we think she cannot). Annie was known to climb a few times, but she never reveled in it like Kate. Kate works hard, finds a way, and is so proud of herself when she reaches her summit. I suppose I'm rather proud, too, but my back hurts from constantly taking her down from somewhere.

Her favorite thing to climb is the kitchen table. (It used to be the little play table because once she reached the top she could flick the kitchen light off and on. Fun! But I turn that on its side now when she's around). So, first on the chair

Haha Mom! I'm already up and beginning the final ascent!

I made it! Time for a brief dance party and some clapping.

Finally, I've tried arranging the chairs in such a way so she can't pull them out. Unfazed, she found a way onto the chair and either pushes or cries until something happens for her. And, much like all her other adventures, she finds this all to be quite entertaining.
