Pumpkin Carving

This month has been a little crazy, so we just got around to getting our pumpkins and carving them this weekend. Annie picked out the perfect pumpkins and decided we would carve them Halloween morning. She also decided she wanted no part of cleaning them out. She would not even go near all the goop inside the pumpkins. Kate didn't mind as much. She stuck her hand in and tried out the slimy texture. She wasn't a huge fan, but it didn't phase her. They are very excited to put lights in the pumpkins tonight for the trick-or-treaters.
Annie drew a rough draft of what she wanted her pumpkin to look like.

Kate attempted to do the same.

She agreed to clean out the pumpkin with a very large spoon, but that only lasted a minute. We also learned that I am way, way better at cleaning out pumpkins than Matt.

Kate wasn't shy about it.

At all. :)

Putting Kate's face on her pumpkin.

Annie insisted on drawing the face on herself. This is the drawing that resulted. Matt promised to stick to it.

They were not excited about posing with their creations. And check out Annie's pumpkin face!

Doesn't it look as if it's had a stroke? Annie loves it, though.

The stroke part got me. I spit all over my computer screen.
