Annie heard that her buddy Andrew was playing basketball in the fall, and she wanted to join so badly. Unfortunately, I missed the registration deadline, so she had to wait until just after Christmas to start. She was so excited to start playing (in her class that was a gift from Gigi and Grandpa! Thanks!). After the first week, she asked nearly every day if it was basketball day and repeatedly told me she wished she could play more than just one day a week.
She was on the Stars team with four of her little buddies - Andrew, Dane, Charlie and and Sam. She was the ONLYgirl in the co-ed league! (There was a girls league, but I didn't realize that until later. And for carpooling purposes (Kate had ballet at the same time) the "co-ed" league was our only option). I don't think Annie even noticed there were no other girls. Plus, she spent a decent amount of time playing with her shorts, so she fit right in.
These are all pics from her last game, courtesy of Matt. The last two weeks she scored a few baskets during the game! And her defense was intense. She did a lot of face guarding :)
All tough players get a few injuries.
Her team. This is so adorable. Her coaches were awesome. They actually knew about basketball and did great drill with them. Annie had SO much fun!
