School started here in Michigan finally. I feel like I've been seeing Back To School stuff from our Ohio friends and family for weeks already!
Annie is in second grade this year, and Kate is in kindergarten. They are at the same school this year, and they were both very excited to start! We had Open House last week, and Kate was SO quiet. She was so nervous. She barely spoke and when she did it was practically a whisper. She was quite determined, though. Even though she had trouble talking to her teacher, she stood patiently and waited to be introduced. And she knew exactly what she wanted to do in the classroom in what order. She just didn't want to talk to anyone while doing it :) I cried. I can't lie. Pregnancy hormones? I don't know. I didn't think it would be hard to send Kate to kindergarten. I've done it before, and I know she is more than ready for it. But Kate is a totally different person than Annie. I love so many different things about her and our worries for her are different, too. We are encouraging her to talk more - something we definitely have never had to do with either of her sisters! She's so sweet and so smart, we know she's going to love kindergarten and that she'll make new friends. But it is still hard to let her go! We are so proud of her, though. She went right in today, sat right down, spoke actual words to her teacher and started coloring.
