Annie Goes To Preschool

Annie started preschool today! She has been talking about this day for literally a year. She has been asking to go to school since last fall. The day finally came, and everyone was so excited. Annie was a bit disappointed that she didn't get to ride the school bus to preschool, but once she realized everyone's mom had to drop them off, she seemed ok with it.

As expected, Annie did perfectly. She was friendly and happy and excited. She posed for pictures for me and when it was time for me to leave her there, she said "Bye Mom!!" and gave me a kiss. She didn't even watch me leave. We are so proud of her. And we can't believe our baby is in preschool!

She kept holding onto her backpack like this because she said that's how all the school kids do it.

The backpack. She made me take multiple pictures of her prized Tinkerbell backpack. Thanks again Gigi!

Kate wanted in on the preschool action.

She found her little fish name tag and was ready to go.

She was really that excited.

This is what she looked like when I left. At a table full of boys. Should we be worried? (In her defense, she knows two of the three boys very well and she doesn't really know any of the girls in the class).

Finally, this is what the face of despair looks like. Left behind and out of the preschool fun by the sister she adores and spends virtually every waking minute with. I won't lie, Kate and I both cried on the way home.

Annie said her first day was good. She ate popcorn and drank juice and sang songs. At least, that's what she told me.

Love her! Such a big girl! Bella and I looked at these pictures earlier and she went "Annie looks so pretty Mommy!" and "She has a backpack just like I do." :) I am glad you survived. Can we hold each other when we have to drive them off to college? xoxo

I can't believe your child is in preschool. This calls for a visit after football season and before or after the snow. I have said this before but I really mean it this time! I will drive to the state up North just to see you!
Also, her backpack is HUGE!
