We had our anatomy scan ultrasound today. Everything looked perfect, and it looks like Annie and Kate will be welcoming a baby sister! She was very active and was even trying to suck her thumb! Matt and I were happy to see that, as we have been discussing the various ways we will force a pacifier upon her since we knew of her impending arrival. Though we hope she is as sweet as Kate, we certainly don't want her following in Kate's fussy, refuse-a-paci footsteps :)
We were a little worried about Annie's response because she's been very clear that she wanted a brother. Yesterday, she even told me she would cry if the baby wasn't a boy. She was disappointed at first and buried her face in my legs. But as soon as we showed her the ultrasound pictures of baby girl's very clear profile, she was all smiles. She hung the pictures on the fridge herself! We're sure she and Kate will be excellent big sisters to our new baby girl. Now, just to wait until February...
