It's All Fun and Games

Last weekend, our friends the Sarkars invited to join them at a carnival. It was a good, old-fashioned carnival-- full of carnies, cotton candy and questionable construction of rides. It was Annie's first real carnival experience, and we'd say it was a success.

When we first got there, Annie wanted to try this bubble. You get in, they fill it with air and you can roll around in a few inches of water. She was really excited, and she wasn't scared. She liked it well enough, but it was not worth the insane price tag, which I will not share because I'm sort of embarrassed we paid it. I suggest skipping this if you see it with your kids.

Annie and her buddy Shohum decided to do the "Buzz Lightyear" ride first.

Don't their faces just scream "fun!"?

While we were waiting for the kids, Matt had a celebrity sighting. That is David Arquette, who is in town filming Scream 4. We didn't intrude or bother him, as he was with his daugther just trying to have a good time.  Instead, we snapped a random picture at a really inopportune time. He was biting the wrapper on the DVD trying to open it so he could sign it for that guy. He was very gracious and friendly.

We finally let Kate out of the stroller for a family carousel ride.

She loved it. In fact, she loved the carnival. She sat in her stroller for a solid 30 minutes just staring at people and flashing lights. I think it was a Kate record. We only let her out to ride some rides because our friends thought we were mean keeping her in there. :)

Annie and Shohum on the spinning dragons.
Kate liked these boats more than this photo reflects. It was her only other ride. She rocked it.
