Golden Beepers and Other Fun

A few weeks ago, Matt received notice that he won a Bronze Beeper at work. This is an award given to six male and six female residents over all years and disciplines. It's an award voted on by the students for the residents that excel in teaching and mentoring, so it's a great honor to be recognized like this. He was also told he was a finalist for the Golden Beeper, the top male and female vote getters.
We went to the awards ceremony (sort of, it was like a roast in the beginning and then short presentations at the end), and Matt won the Golden Beeper! This is a big deal, as one of his attendings told him later. :) We are so proud of Matt! Now, he has a nice certificate, a fancy pin for his white coat and the esteem of his students. ;)
This was really hard to take a picture of, but here is the pin. I think it looks like the first pager ever made.

And, in celebration, Matt finally pulled the trigger on a purchase he's been discussing and thinking on ad nauseum for the past few years. We go a new, huge (sort of ridiculous) plasma t.v. Matt is very excited and proud of his purchase. Annie likes it, too.
Don't you think it looks dumb sitting on such a small table? Shouldn't I buy a new t.v. stand for it? A nice, corner stand with doors? ;)

Yes, you need a new TV stand...a trip to Ikea, perhaps?! :)
